Ave Maria

Hello! I’m Ave Maria (or Avis or Cute Stuff or Little Miss Big Mouth). First I wish to address that last nickname my foster mother has given me. “Little Miss”—Yes, there are 7 pounds of me. “Big Mouth”—Ahem! Please don’t think I’m like the stupid home dog who barks whenever someone comes to the door or a car parks by our house. Who cares? I only bark, perhaps rather insistently, when I need you to feed me or when I want to get on your lap. A small girl can have big needs, you know.
This rescue gig has been good for me. I saw a nice vet who took off two big growths (no cancer!) and also stole all but 3 of my teeth. I feel so much better now, particularly since my foster mom got all the tar off my paws. And I have been to the dog park (see video).
So, the potty thing. I really try hard to hit that pad as I am trained to do, but my aim is just terrible. So my foster mom has been taking me out. I run right down the stairs. I am very brave
I am looking for a loving, quiet home for my petite 12-year-old self. I am fine with other gentle dogs and with cats; I mostly ignore them. No small children, please. I really want a patient, gentle human with a lap and love and a cozy bed and soft food. I like short walks but I do enjoy a lot of beauty sleep—it keeps me adorable. If you need a dose of cuteness in your life, please fill out an application.
Ave Maria is being fostered in the Seattle area. Washington/Oregon residents who want to begin the process to adopt an IGCA Rescue dog, please email us at igrfadopt@gmail.com to learn about the IGCA adoption process and receive an application, which may also be downloaded here: Download IGRF Rescue Application . We are always willing to consider placing a dog out of state, but applicants are asked to apply to and work with us through their local IGCA Rep.
